Description
A Horseback Ride Playa Venao allows you to explore the shoreline of this famous surf beach. Located on Panama's Pacific coast, this crescent-shaped beach features a mix of golden and black sand. Once an area of pristine jungle, it has gradually become lined with colorful businesses along the coast. You can ride to the far end of Playa Venao to reach a jungle trail leading to La Playita—a sheltered beach with calm waters that is ideal for swimming—before returning to Playa Venao.
This horseback riding tour is suitable for riders of all experience levels, as the horses are gentle. For children, the guide can lead the horse on foot. If you have prior riding experience, you also have the option to gallop along the beach.
Tours are available in the morning (6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.) to catch the sunrise, or in the afternoon (3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.). Rides do not take place between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., as the heat is excessive and would place too much strain on the animals. Groups of up to 10 horses can be arranged (with advance notice), although the standard group capacity is 4 to 6 horses. What to bring? Long pants (ideally), hat, sunglasses, sneakers or closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and rain jacket (green season).
Important information: Reservations are required one day in advance. Same-day reservations are possible subject to availability. Children may ride unaccompanied from the age of 4; younger children may ride accompanied by their parents.
