Christmas Parade in Pedasi 2025

This year was the first time we attended the Christmas Parade in Pedasi. I’d been to the one in the city many times. I even skated in it when inline skates were all the rage—you can imagine how many years ago that was! The difference between the two parades is enormous, but that doesn’t mean they don’t both have their charm.

Panama City Christmas Parade

The 2025 Panama City Christmas Parade had a budget of $2.8 million, which is much higher than that of Pedasi or other parts of the country. Private companies participated in all the Christmas parades in Panama.

In 2025, approximately 130,000 people attended the capital’s parade, “Let’s Dream, Panama, Christmas Has Arrived.” These attendees were primarily from Panama City, although some people from other parts of the country also traveled to see this Christmas parade. Panama’s Christmas parades are not as much of a tourist attraction as those in other destinations, even nearby ones like Medellin.

Many people choose to take vacations for Christmas and New Year’s, taking advantage of all the holidays. Some seek traditional winter destinations, while others escape the cold and come to the tropics. Panama’s weather in December is spectacular. You get the best of both seasons: everything is green, there’s a breeze, and sunshine. Pedasi and Playa Venao are ideal destinations to include in your Panama vacation.

Christmas Parade in Pedasi

Despite living in the tropics, Panama is filled with Christmas spirit. Our visitors can enjoy a beautiful Christmas parade in Pedasi. The theme for the 2025 parade was “Christmas in Colors,” reflecting Pedasi’s vibrant and colorful character. A call for muralists to paint art in the town will be issued again in early 2026.

The Municipality of Pedasi is in charge of organizing the Christmas celebrations and the Christmas Parade in Pedasi. On Friday, December 19th, there was a “muni cinema” where a movie was shown on the Pedasi sports field. This time, they showed Home Alone, a classic. The Pedasi Christmas Market took place on Saturday, December 20th, with a Christmas posada, a municipal fair, and games for children.

The 2025 Pedasi Christmas Parade was held on Sunday, December 21st. This event was supposed to start at 6 p.m., but as always, it was a little delayed. We went to eat pizza at the Bohemia restaurant while waiting for the event to begin. The pizzas were also delayed, so when we got to the Pedasi town square, the parade was already underway.

There weren’t as many people as in the city, but the whole town was there, along with some international visitors. I estimate that between spectators and participants there must have been about 5,000 people at the Christmas Parade in Pedasi.

The delegations that participated in the Christmas Parade in Pedasi 2025 were:

1 – National Police
2 – Chamber of Commerce
3 – Los Tigres
4 – Llegó papa
5 – Fundation friends of Pedasí
6 – Los leones dorados
7 – Santa Catalina Church
8 – Transporte y equipo Alex
9 – Matías Gonzales
10 – Donis peluquería
11 – La banda de la palma
12 – Una vaina social
13 – Temporada
14 – Costa Pedasí
15 – Super Pedasí
16 – Banda independiente Santa Librada
17 – Price Pedasí
18 – Tienda del Folcklore
19 – Junta Comunal Oria Arriba
20 – Grupo Pime
21 – Pacho
22 – Instituto Plinio M.
23 – Los niños de Marta – los cachorros
24 – Pedasi Municipality
25 – Hiño con pelotas

As you can see, anyone who wanted to participate in the Pedasi Christmas Parade, whether as an individual, family, or business, could do so simply by notifying the Municipality. People decorated their cars, ATVs, trucks, and tractors to participate. Since we’re in Los Santos, even Christmas is celebrated with carnival music played by the band. Other floats had their own speakers with music.

The most elaborate float was the one from the Municipality of Pedasí, which featured popular cartoon characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Belle and the Beast, and Paw Patrol. The last float was the one giving away toys. We went home with a Pedasi Pueblo de Colores (Pedasi, Town of Colors) shirt and a ball. The Christmas Parade in Pedasi was a wonderful activity for families.

We left around 9:30-10 p.m. I really don’t know how my son managed to stay up so long. Supposedly there was a live concert and a fireworks show to close the show (it can’t be Los Santos without fireworks) but we didn’t get to see them.
